In the office of the Nightclub, Dupees, Richard, an artist and savvy gay nightclub owner, identifies as Harlotte Dupree by day, and by night identifies as Miss Rophilla, a foul-mouthed, off-key singing, two-left-feet dancing drag artist.
Richard’s Mother lives with him in the upstairs flat of the gay nightclub, surrounded by tatty feathers, fake tan, and more sequins than she cares to think about.
As Richard attempts to diversify his income, Mother expresses her wish to live in a care home with her photo frames, collection of porcelain clowns, and memories of happier days.
