Once a year on the first Sunday of each April, Vivien and Frank meet at the train station. Each year they have a picnic in the park, see a matinee movie, and then go their separate ways. Its 1949, early November, the autumn leaves are turning. Vivien has written Frank a letter, asking to meet him. Frank hopes for an acceptance to his annual marriage proposals. Vivien introduces Frank to his daughter and has devastating news about her travel plans.

A quiet train station platform in late Autumn on Sunday 6 November 1949. The autumn leaves have almost completed their cycle. Vivien and Catherine wait in the platform waiting room. Frank’s train comes to a stop.
