Six months ago Mrs Swanley, concerned for her daughter, Datchet sent her to her brother for therapy, Doctor Furze-Platt, Datchet’s Uncle, a famous Doctor of Neurology specialising in mind control. Datchet’s obsession with repeatedly marrying is destroying her family and leaving a string of ruined men in her wake. After each wedding, Datchet and her husband argue resulting in Datchet returning to her family home. In those six months, Datchet has married twice. She has seven husbands in total and no children; none of the marriages have been consummated.

 

Mrs Swanley arrives unannounced to Doctor Furze- Platt’s Rooms to discover why Datchet’s progression is non-existent, only to discover her daughter has been proposed to by her brother. He wants to marry Datchet to keep the family lineage and blood line strong. Doctor Furze-Platt has lost interest in his own work and has become obsessed with Datchet. Mrs Swanley must gain her daughter back; however, she has disappeared.

 

When Datchet appears, dressed as the only Scullery Maid, Mrs Swanley realises her daughter is under the mind control of her brother. Mrs Swanley must reverse the obsession Doctor Furze-Platt has with her daughter, break the spell and reinvigorate the obsession in his own work. To do this, Mrs Swanley gives her brother a piece of information and offers a family heirloom to reinvigorate his obsession.

 

By pure accident, Mrs Swanley discovers the mind control spell cast by Doctor Furze-Platt and reverses it, releasing Datchet from her position as the Scullery Maid, but also releasing Mirkin from the same mind control spell. We discover Mirkin is Doctor Furze- Platt’s long-lost secret son.

DR FURZE-PLATT, wearing a shiny metallic helmet, is fiddling with the dials on a household transmitter in his Reception Room. MIRKIN, his assistant is in the room next door. FURZE-PLATT is attempting to align the frequencies between his transmitter and the transmitter in the next room.
